You will need a web browser such as Netscape or Internet Explorer with the Macromedia Flash Player plug-in.

Who is the intended Audience?

The VAILTutor is intended to be an introduction to academic integrity issues for the higher education community.

How do I begin?
Option 1: Click on the Start button to begin in Module 1 and navigate through the modules.

Option 2: Click on a specific monitor to go directly to that module.

How do I navigate within the Modules?
Option 1: Left and Right Arrows are located on the bottom of each screen. These will allow you to visit every screen of the tutorial.

Option 2: Section headers are located in the left column. These will bring you to each section but you must use the left and right arrows (see Option 1) to navigate through the section and read the entire text of the module.

How do I get back to the beginning of the VAILTutor?
To return to the Start Screen click the Tutor Home button in the bottom right corner.

How do I take the quiz?
The quiz is to be taken upon completion of the VAIL Tutor. A link to the quiz is located on the left column navigation in each module. If your score is above 65%, a completion certificate will be sent to your provided email address. If your score is below 65%, please review the VAIL Tutor and complete the quiz again.

Must the tutorial be completed in one sitting?
No. However, the tutorial does not set any cookies on your computer. You can selectively re-enter any module or the quiz when you return to the tutorial.

I have lost my “Certificate of Successful Completion”; does the Center have a copy?
Unfortunately, the Center for Intellectual Property does not keep records of users or their activity within the tutorial. You must print the Certificate when it is displayed at the completion of the quiz or you can print the e-mailed copy, if a valid e-mail address is supplied.

Can I link to the VAILTutor?
We welcome the use of the VAILTutor. Permission is not required for linking. If placing a link to the VAILTutor on a website or list of resources, we suggest using the following format and language:
