The Library of Congress celebrates African American History Month with online resources and face-to-face events. The Library of Congress's theme for 2011 is African Americans and the Civil War, honoring "the efforts of people of African descent to destroy slavery and inaugurate universal freedom in the United States."
Our own UMUC library has a Web page of resources to help you research African American history.
