Fire Safety and Older Adults

The National Fire Protection Association issued a press release about the high risk of fatality among older adults in house fires. The press releases states that "adults over the age of 75 are nearly three times as likely to die in a home fire as the general public."

This NFPA video offers fire safety tips for older adults and their families. For UMUC fire science students, the library provides a research guide with recommended databases, Web sites, and other authoritative resources.
