In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday, the federal government has established a Web site, mlkday.gov, with links to volunteer opportunities and other resources. The Web site states:
"On January, 18, 2010, people of all ages and backgrounds will come together to improve lives, bridge social barriers, and move our nation closer to the 'Beloved Community' that Dr. King envisioned."
Individuals can volunteer or create their own project. There are also resources for organizations.
Wishing you a happy and meaningful holiday in honor of Dr. King.
