Bestselling author of Hyperspace, Michio Kaku, explores the realm of what is considered to be science fiction.  Inspired by the fantastic worlds found in movies such as Star Wars, Star Trek, and Back to the Future, he takes a scientific look at the possibilites of time travel, teleportation, phasers, death stars, force fields, and much more.

Based on the actual science behind them, he then groups these scientific possibilites into three categories:  Those that may actually be possible, just not with our current technology, but perhaps in a century or so; those that are on the verge of possibility, perhaps with a thousand years of technological advancement; and those that are most likely never to be possible, regardless of technological advancement. He explains the thought provoking science behind these possibilites in language that even non-physicists can understand.

The book is an enteratining and informative exploration of the relationship between science and science fiction.

If teleportation ever becomes possible, it certainly will help out with our daily commutes!
